Sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere (I couldn't find it), but...
...is there a date for when we can expect this change to .Mac's webmail?
Also, I can understand why Apple previewed iTV -- but why the preview for something like this? Will we be seeing more previews from them? Doesn't seem like their style. Not that I'm complaining... ;)

The diesel saga is a story for another thread...but VW is one of the few car manufacturers selling vehicles in the US with a diesel.
Its worth pointing out that the current Jetta also follows the Cheaper+Bigger philosophy, although it will be sold in Europe as well as North America. I should also note that this new American Passat is not related to the previous generation Passat. The current Euro Passat is a facelifted version of the previous car. The new American Passat is a new design that will be sold only in North America and China. So we now have two "Passats" in the market that are actually different cars, though they are sold in different markets.
I hope they don't give the Golf the Cheaper+Bigger treatment as well...

So basically Samsung has patented: A clock with multiple time zones in a mobile phone.
How on Earth is a patent like that supposed to promote innovation?
(the original reason we got the patent system back some centuries ago)

Apple will surely manage this, but what about the independent developer with no huge pile of cash to throw at some lawyers? THAT is the problem here.. :(
Are there any cases of giant companies suing indies for patent infringement? I realise it often happens the other way around, but I can't recall a case where some poor indie is muscled out of business via a patent. It just doesn't seem worth it.

I'm on the 450 minute plan, and I have 1770 roll over minutes. I've stuck w/the 450 plan, mostly cus almost everyone I call is on AT&T (I switched from Verizon, and saved a boatload, since it's just me on the plan). In the 4 years I've been with AT&T, I've only ever gone into my roll over minutes *twice*. They always end up expiring on me.
Text messaging & the (grandfathered unlimited) data plan are far more valuable to me.

Man you need EyeTV2 with an EyeTV 500 Digital Broadcast reccorder. You don't need no stinkin HDMI and it plays beautiful 1080p on any 24" Apple or Dell Display from your 1.25GHz G4 without choking at all.
Just make sure your cable provider allows you to record from it. Make sure the signals are not encrypted.
I purchased EyeTV500 and after I figure out the only way to record HDTV was from over the air antenna. I returned it to Elgato after I found out I would have to spend good amount of money buying a really good outdoor antenna plus make holes in the wall and etc. to be able to connect it to my EyeTV and computer.

As a hobbyist photographer, this is welcome news and even more reason to bring my iPad along with me during shoots.As a professional photographer this thing is (and always will be) an "App Store" toy - nothing more.

I was thinking about this game and if it would work on an 11" mba ultimate.
i tried searching forums for "macbook air rift" and nothing came up so i thought id post it and see if anyone had any success. Even if you have to play at lowest settings, that would be fine for me. Sorry if i missed a thread that discusses this already. Thanks for any helpful replies.

Actually you can try it for free and it's fully functional as long as you only have 25 items in your library.
Having a free trial doesn't make it a free app, and crippled software is just that. No big deal, was just pointing out the title of the thread.

I have an airport express base station, that connects to a modem (NOT wireless) through firewire, which is connected to the internet.

When you take forever to get the phone on VZW you should expect people to take their time switching.
First, you've let Android have all that time to get a following because it's the only alternative for the lack of an iPhone. Those people have also bought apps that they now enjoy and would have to re-purchase on the iPhone. This happens with video game systems as well.
Second, people are in 2yr contracts. There are very few people who are willing to pay more for a phone they can buy 4 months later at half price on top of the termination fee.
Third, not that many people hate AT&T it's just the handful of VZW fans that make it look that way.
And finally you have the reporting and reviews. All the reports I saw were telling VZW people and potential switchers to hold off on getting the iPhone 4. No 4G, no white and still had the questionable signal issues. The "iPhone 5" was supposed to come out mid to late summer so people were concerned Apple would sell them a phone and then jump up 6 months later with the newer, thiner, better version and leave folks hanging.
People are paying attention to these reports and that's why I feel the numbers were low.
