I am very excited about this year, but apple will be smart not to do too much in one show. I mean how many surprises and new products can they release at one time before the public gets overwhelmed or exhausted (i.e. the dinosaur sequence in king kong)? I think they will focus on a few special things, probably not the phone though.

Please explain to me who would buy a mini and why?
I just don't get it when a imac is close in price with a monitor.
What am I missing?Needs to be $499 for the base. I agree with you. BUT, did anyone notice they have a DDR333 ram description when it is really PC 5300 running @ 667MHz? What a screwup.
Omni via Ramseeker.com (http://Ramseeker.com) has a pair of 1GB sticks for $174 instead of Apple's $225. Save $50 and have something to sell on eBay. - two 256 sticks. Wonder if anyone is buying those? Seems like so small.

I had to learn how to drive a stick about a decade ago when we planned a trip to Ireland and found out that most, if not all, of the rental cars would be stick shifts. So, my first big stick shift experience was also on the other side of the road.

Friend of mine at work bought the Zune. First thing that hit me was the "poop" brown color - uck. It had a rubbery feel (guess it won't slip from your hands) like the protectors you can get for the ipod. Was hard to get in and out of my back pocket due to the coating and brick thickness.
I like that it played your videos landscape, though navagation became tricky.
For all its bells and whistles I wouldn't buy it. Design matters. If it didn't i'd still be using my anti skip cd- mp3 player. I own a nano and have had every generation ipod except the first and the zune seems like the 1st generation ipod in respect to design and clunkiness. Microsoft should stick with the xbox

iPhone 4 is so new on the market that their cases are not easy to find, I think.
Huh? iPhone 4 cases are all over the place.

Here in the upper midwest, we're having a nasty winter. However in a couple of months it'll be warm enough to get the top down.

Thank goodness .. Finally an iMac rumour ... I am still going to wait a bit more and buy it when the new iMacs ship with lion preinstalled .... July I guess
Really hoping for 1080p target display mode will be supported in the new iMacs ...
I heard when you say it twice, its 2x more likely to happen. JK
Ive double posted several times with no reason why...is this a known MR bug?

Im not really holdng my breath.
Sales and figures
Leopard pitch
iPod updates (excluding Nano)
iLife/iWork updates (Lasso?)
Mac Pro updates
Display updates
I think thats it. Then further down the line...say April/May/June, we'll get iTV, iPhone, MBP/MB updates etc. I feel a Leopard release coming on at WWDC. iPod refreshes and more iTunes content in october and then Merry Christmas to all.

I may just go with BootCamp, Windows, Adobe, but that means buying Windows, BootCamp, and Im concerned about conflicts.
Use Boot Camp and your Mac is a Windows PC, just like any other (although arguably nicer to look at ;) ). Any "conflicts" will be precisely the same conflicts that you'd get on a PC laptop.
BTW, right-clicking on an Apple notebook is now awesome! The "two-fingers on trackpad" click is great, and actually easier than having two buttons IMO.

Of course, we all know exactly what this rumor really means.
It means, simply, that the "Full Laptop Refresh By Holidays?" thread will stop short of 4000.

I wish whoever posted this would get it straight - Microsoft is coming out with zune to compete with iPod. They are the one with the new product that will inevitably suck.
I don't understand why this post says that Apple is coming out with wireless capabilities to compete with zune - if nobody has wireless out yet, then there is not much a competition. And it certainly isn't Apple hoping to be the ones to catch up.
The post says apple is going to compete with Zune because everyone knows almost everything about zune, with the exception of having a physical zune apple can at least stay on top by brining in inovative features before zune has them.

This ad will never work. People want ads that make them feel like teenage boys. I know this from Android ads. Steel and lasers, Apple. Steel and lasers!
My grandma told me she's not buying an iPad until they start putting some explosions in their ads.

We did more history coverage of WW2 than India and China combined.
But popular culture keeps it at the forefront.
It's a fascinating subject, but also an unhealthy obsession for both nations. Also, the literature on the subject is bloated with bad research, crazed theories and revisionism.
I couldn't agree more. I think what few people realize is that in almost all aspects, WWII was not so much the Second World War, as a continuation of WWI. I
For the US it was definitely our first bright and shining moment on the international stage and it has gained mythological status.
Suppose the British fascination with WWII comes from the fact that it was close, we could of easily lost.
Possibly but I think a lot of the British fascination has to do with
1. Its sense of impregnability due to its Island Status
2. WWII helped the UK regain a sense of self worth after the painful previous 2 decades. Of course, it was all thrown away again at Suez...

anything is possible minus 1 thing: the option to dock and iPod simply is so out of place that I do not know why it keeps getting brought up. iTV is focused on streaming content from your computer, not your iPod.
As several of us have discussed before, my hope is that iTV will be able to stream all forms of content on my computer, but with particular emphasis on digital media. So if I want to bring a word doc up and type or a movie I am working on in final cut pro, I can do so. Similarly, and with more fully developed components all my digital media can be run on my tv. The goal is to make this experience integrate all the entertainment features we love, but throughout our homes. Quality preservation is essential and I think they will work to ensure that takes place.
